Cheap motorbike insurance!
As you're probably aware, being both a biker, and therefore slightly mad, they don't do anything by halves in New Zealand . In fact the only halves you find down under down under are the reckless extreme sportists you find on the floor having lunged themselves forcibly off mountains and particularly high bridges and forgetting to pack their parachutes such was their keenness to feel the breeze on their faces. It must be something in the water. Or something they inject into their bloodstreams. Either way, they're great for providing entertainment value. Whilst they're in the land of the living anyway. And if you, as a cheap motorbike insurer were to put two of the craziest ingredients you could find together in a melting pot, I'm hazarding a guess you might just suggest a Kiwi with hyperactivity issues, and, say, the Isle of Man TT races? Could throw up all sorts of possibilities. And it did.
Thanks to Bruce (real name) Anstey. Get this my cheap motorbike insuring followers, in an indication of just how crazy the Isle of Man TT really is, New Zealander Bruce Anstey set a new top speed record when he was clocked at 206mph on the mile-long Sulby Straight during practice for the Superbike-class race. Anstey was aboard a race-modified Suzuki GSX-R1000. Which to the biking fraternity will strike a chord of approval. Just for reference, 206mph is basically the same as the highest speeds that have ever been recorded from World Superbike machines, and extremely close to that of MotoGP prototypes. Which I'm told is pretty rapid. Anstey has won the TT on four occasions, which made him New Zealand's most successful rider, and his average speed around the lap beforehand was 203.61km/h. just to put things in perspective, organisers have tried to make the treacherous track safer again this year, after more calls to do so. (Although probably not from the New Zealand contingent) yet already, three riders in practice were fighting for their lives after two accidents. And two sidecar racers were also killed previously. Anyway, I don't wish to end this nugget of biking on a morbid note, so I won't. Just thought I'd mention a mad Bruce chap making a bit of news and history. Something bikesite.co.uk are no strangers to either. As the cheap motorbike insurer is always getting in on the action when it matters most to you.
