Fully Comprehensive Insurance for Motorbikes
Firstly comprehensive cover does not necessarily cover you for everything under the sun. A common exclusion are track days, this means that you can't compete in track days, obviously you can attend them just as long as you don't actually go on the track.
So what does comprehensive insurance cover you for?
Comprehensive cover means that both your property and a third parties property are insured if hit anyone/anything. So if you hit someone else, in theory your insurance will pay for all repairs to both of the vehicles. It also covers you for damaging other peoples property such as walls and fences etc.
When should I take out Comprehensive Insurance?
There are a few instances where we'd recommend or insist on comprehensive insurance:-
- The bike is worth over £4000
- You have a number of years of NCB(No Claims Bonus) = Lower Price
Is there anything else that I should know about?
Have you thought about getting some personal injury insurance? Although it's quite possible to be hurt in a car, the very nature of a motorbike make it's more dangerous. No matter how good your lid is, there's every chance that you could be seriously hurt in a small accident.
