Third Party Fire & Theft (TPFT from here on) insurance is one of the most common levels of insurance because it offers a good level of cover for a lower price than comprehensive insurance.
However it's important that you understand what this leve of cover offers in terms of features.
If I hit someone else am I covered?
Only for the cost of the other persons repairs. Your bike isn't covered at all.
What happens if my bike is stolen and then set alight?
You're covered for this because you have the "Fire & Theft" option, it's usually well worth the extra money for these features.
Can I protect my NCB with this level of cover?
This all depends on the company you talk to, with us you can. Other insurers however lead you to believe you must have comprehensive cover to protect your NCB.
What else might I need?
As mentioned elsewhere in this site, we recommend that you take out some level of personal accident insurance. This should cover you in case you are serisouly injured and cannot work for extended periods. It's a sad fact but riding a motorbike can extremely dangerous especially in the winter, have a a think about what would happen to your family if the worst happened.
If you need any advice about bike insurance please give us a call and we will be more than happy to discuss your options.
