New figures have revealed motor insurance is now one of the most researched financial products on the Internet, with online applications jumping by almost a quarter (23 per cent) over the past year.
It seems that many consumers have cast away pervious security fears over the Internet, as it now seems that an increasingly internet-savvy nation is becoming more at home taking out insurance policies via their computer.
This could result in the demise of the high street insurance companies, as many consumers just don't have time to phone or go into the shops any more.
It has been stated by David Tyers at the AA that, "Even those who do have access to a computer often ask a computer-literate friend or family to do the searching for them, but complete the deal offline."
The advantages purchasing car insurance of online out weights the disadvantages for many full-time worker, as the consumer has 24hour access to car insurance quotes and can do this in there own time.
