Holiday drivers failing to check car insurance

Many of us will be heading abroad, some of us will be driving into Europe, but will you be covered by you car insurance. Many pepole fail to check weather they are insured which can caused major problems.

The Post Office carried a survey, which claims that 42% of Motorists driving abroad will not check weather their car insurance policy covers them. According to the Post Office, Only a third of the 8.8 million people expected to take their cars on holiday confirmed they had checked to ensure they were fully insured.

Half of those surveyed thought they would drive up to 500 miles during their holiday, whilst 14 per cent expected to notch up more than 1,000 miles.

All holidaymakers must realise that there are many advantages of driving to the continent, but there are major disadvanatges, an example of this would be not checking the car insurance policy, which can cause major problems.

If something was to go wrong with your car while on holiday the cost could mount up, starting with emergency repairs, air fares and shipping the car back if the problem was serious.
