In the Uk alone more than 28,000 people are killed or injuied following motorbike accidents, this has lead to many campaigns from actions groups such as (MAG) Motorcycle Action Group.
Now the MAG have embarked on new campaign to make crash barriers more suitable for motorcyclists.
The problems that the action may face are that crash barriers are normally deisgn with four wheeled vehicles in mind and they are no currenly laws that state that motorbikes should be fitting with crash barriers as standard, so it would be hard to pursude companies to invest.
Some companies are opposed to crash barriers stating the instailling barriers would autally put bikers at a greater risk, due to the fact that it is one more thing to collide into.
Putting these aurgments aside everyone can can least agree on the fact that these statistics highlight the importance of getting adequate protection for bikeriders.
It has been said many times that bikeriders know the risks when that start riding motorbikes, but does this mean that they deserve let attention when it comes to safety issues?
Due the high number of death and injuires it is important that you have the correct insurance cover on your bike.
